- High Quality Parts
We use extremely high quality conductors. Our power cords are made of 99.99% pure silver wires (99.999% is very hard to find and almost 10 times more expensive and 99.9999% silver does NOT exist; see the Maestro Interconnect under the Products category) with Teflon-Air dielectric, arranged in a hyperlitz fashion. That means each wire has it’s own separate Teflon-Air dielectric and the wires are never in direct contact with each other. Our interconnects contain only high purity silver (99.99%) with Teflon coating. We use silver RCA connectors from Cardas. Honestly, why use silver wire in the first place if you are going to attach it to gold plated RCAs? We use Hospital Grade Marinco plugs in our power cords. Using the more expensive Gold-plated copper male and female connectors actually will add coloration due to the addition of the gold coating and will cost substantially more. It goes against the principle of “less is more” or “KISS”.
- Cryogenic Treatment
We cryogenically teat all our silver wires, silver RCA connectors, and male and female IEC plugs. That means at least 4 days of liquid Nitrogen emersion prior to soldering and 1 day after soldering. We know of no other high-end audio cable company that pays so much meticulous attention to cryogenic treatment. You might want to shop around and see for yourself how much some companies charge for TRUE liquid Nitrogen treatment. (Approximately hundreds of dollars in additional charges). Many so called cryogenically treated wires are in fact immersed in liquid nitrogen for only a few hours and there are those who only use 30-45 minutes of cryogenic treatment.
- High Grade Solder
We use 4% silver WBT solder only. Using combinations that contain lead , tin, copper and silver theoretically could add coloration and goes against the principle of KISS ( “keep it simple, Stupid!”)
- "Crimping Method"
We use a special heat based “crimping” method that allows for the tightest connection possible without soldering. We use this method only in our power cords as the wire in our interconnects is too thin to be amenable to this technique. Our labor-intensive connection method is of such high quality that it essentially eliminates one of the weakest links in the power cord performance,i.e., the contact point between the wires and the IEC plugs. We also adjust the female IEC plugs to allow the female plug to “grab onto” the male IEC connector on your components with the tightest hold possible. You will feel this when you plug the power cord into your front-end gear or your amplifier. Once again, we know of no other high-end power cord company that pays so much attention to this very crucial part of true high-end audio power cord manufacturing.
- Special Interconnect Design
With our interconnects, we use a single, very high quality, Teflon coated silver wire. But our special design, based on a DNA helix, essentially maintains a constant distance of 2.5 cm between the main lead and the ground wire. In addition, this design ensures that the dielectric materials of the main and ground leads are never in direct contact. This, by itself, significantly reduces EMI contamination from the ground lead. Furthermore, by using a single wire for the main lead, we achieve two important goals; 1) No cross contamination from any other strands – this means no internal EMI & RFI, and 2) No time misalignment (i.e. all of the musical information reaches the input RCA jacks at the same time). The end result is a design that reproduces a holographic soundstages with a stable and pinpoint image for every instrument and performer.
