Our Power cords are uniquely designed and build to convey the true natural beauty of the original recording while preserving its emotional texture. That’s a tall order but we feel we have accomplished our goal.
We start out with 4N, 99.99% pure silver wires that are liquid Nitrogen treated. The design is Hyperlitz which means individual wires are never in direct contact and each wire has it’s own Teflon-Air dielectric. Before assembly, the entire length of each wire is treated with CAIG LABS Pro Gold GXL wire conditioner to prevent silver oxidation. For the ground lead, we use a multistranded, 10-gauge silver-plated copper wire that is also Teflon coated ( I am almost certain that many so called “audiophile” power cords do not even have main leads that are as high quality as our ground lead).
Our main copper shield is also directional and connected to the ground lead. In other words, it’s connected to the ground lead at the male end of the PC only, allowing for unidirectional drainage of EMI and RFI away from the main signal pathway. Finally, the wires are connected to Marinco’s Hospital Grade male and female plugs that are truly cryogenically treated.
Special attention is paid at the connection point between the wires and the Marinco plugs. The ends of the wires and the contact points of the plugs are also treated with CAIG LABS Pro Gold GXL contact cleaner before our special connection method, which ensures an incredibly tight and permanent connection. This is an area that we have paid special attention to. As far as power cords are concerned, if the contact points are not “gas” tight then nothing else, including your parts and the rest of the design, will make a significant difference. Why? Because the contact points between the male and female plugs and the wires are the weakest electrical links in a power cord and thus a power cord can only be as good as it’s weakest link! Once the connection with the plugs is completed, the ends of the power cord are once again cryogenically treated in liquid Nitrogen.
How do our power cords sound? In order to explain how our power cords sound, we use the analogy of a garden. Imagine a beautiful, colorful, immaculately maintained garden. Now imagine yourself in a small room made of glass where the garden surrounds the room. Now, the garden represents the original musical event and the glass room, made of different verities of glass panels represents the many different types/makes of power cords. Some window panels are clean and transparent while other panels are dirty and dusty. The clean and transparent window panel will allow you to appreciate the true beauty of the garden. You can literally see through this panel almost as if it didn’t exist. You can appreciate the bright colors, textures, and details of the garden. The colors simply shine through this panel and come alive. Whereas, the dirty, dusty panels impart a smeared signature on the garden which leaves it lifeless, dull, and unnatural.
Our power cords use extremely high purity silver in a Hyperlitz design with each wire having it’s own Air-Teflon dielectric. The wires do not touch each other and thus internal EMI and RFI cross-contamination of the audio signal is virtually eliminated. The careful shielding virtually eliminates any EMI or RFI contamination from outside the power cord. Our liquid nitrogen treatment ensures a faster and cleaner signal transfer and our meticulous attention to the contact points with the plugs of the PCs ensures that the amount of signal loss is inconsequential. In essence, our power cords are like the transparent and clean window panels in our garden analogy. These power cords are an open window to the original musical event! You are left with music of life-like dimensions, presence, weight, and palpability.
At KAS Audio, we feel that our designs make inherent sense and our interconnect and power cords represent the current STATE of the ART in cable design and as such, have no equal. Thank you and keep listening.
